The Mary MacGregor
Yesterday on the river, The Crew met Jim. He bought this boat 5 years ago for $1000 and has been working on it ever since. The Mary MacGregor (reflecting his Scottish heritage) is a World War II naval landing craft built in 1943. It was intended to be a part of landings (like the invasion of Normandy), but was never put into service. Jim added on the house and structure, and expects to be working on the craft until he dies. As he says, "You only get one life, so you might as well spend it doing what makes you happy."
