The World A-Turnin'
Post by Jude:
This 5 day ocean Adventure took me to a new realm, a space where there were only two indications of time.
The first: Crows cawing each dawn entered my dreams, transforming them. I woke not knowing if I was a crow, a person, or a crow-person. My outlook and discovery of each unfolding day was altered.
The second: The final, slow slip of sun beyond the horizon.
These were the only indications of time, the only readings on the face of the clock. Of course there was no clock, and there was no time. But these two events were noted each day with importance.
* * *
So tonight I'm back in Sactown and starting tomorrow I'll be rising with the clock, instead of the crows. But I have a feeling that the crows are now a part of me and resurrected a different concept of days' beginnings and endings. So if you see me, I may look the same, but don't be surprised if I suddenly "caw."
Do you hear the music of the world a-turnin'?

MADDOG ROADTRIP
Past (where we've been), present (seeing ourselves on the adventure while we're having it), and future (seeing what lies ahead on the road). All is in veiw when following a tanker truck. Jude thinks that this proves her point:
There is no such thing as time.
Where we've made night camp in Fort Brrrrrag for the past 4 nights.
Night time temperatures have been in the low 50s. Cold enough that Jude woke in the middle of the night and had to flip her sleepingbag over to the cold side. Ha-ha Sacramento and your 105 degree weather.
The Adventure Crew has it made.
Today Jude walked down the coastline until she found a beach all to herself. Well, almost all to herself. There were
two crows there. Is anyone surprised? We thought not, this feels like karma. The crows seemed happy to have Jude there, and she was definately happy to have them there.

It's All In the Choices
Post by Jude:Louise and I finished our latest screenplay, OUTSIDE THE LINES, last Thursday. So what do we do to reward ourselves you ask?Is it:1-eat out and eavesdrop on other diners to get ideas for new plots2-go to a movie and inform everyone in the theater that we write better movies than what they're watching3-make a list of the things we'll do when we're famous4-watch an entire season of Sex in the City5-apply to be on Oprah6-pick out what we'll wear to the Academy Awards7-buy matching poodles8-relive the days when we only "thought" of being writers9-argue whether we'd stay in 5-star hotels or Jude's van when we go on tour10-made a list of why we'd never want to live in HawaiiThe REAL answer is:We started a new screenplay!!!Woo-woo!

Vote for Pedro
The first Napoleon Dynamite Festival was held in Preston, Idaho this past June 24 & 25.
Those who know Jude, and Jude's family (especially Adam), know that Napoleon Dynamite is considered to be a great movie, if not a cult classic. If Jude would have been in the area (that word's for you, Louise), she would have been mixing with the throngs of fellow Napoleon Dynamite lovers.
According to Jude's mom, hundreds--if not thousands--turned out for the event. Preston's 31 motel rooms were booked solid, turning the small, quaint town into a virtual tent city. The festival boasted tater tot eating contests, Napoleon impersonations & look-alikes, volleyball tournaments, boondoggle lessons and a sweet self-guided map of the filming locations.
Gosh, it's never too late to dust off your moon boots. And don't forget the chapstick. Or the red rubber sheet.
